Chess Tournament and a Soccer Party

While I was running in my First 5k, Jerry took the kids to a Chess Tournament, hosted by the school district. Lily, Tylor, Caleb and Ian participated, while Nate and Kyndall just hung out. Sounds nice and relaxing, but it was a crazy day. Nate threw a "teenage temper tantrum" over what pants he was going to wear for the day, and ended up breaking his bedroom window when he leaned back a little (or a lot) too hard, in protest over the khakis. Lily and Jerry had to leave early for their end of season soccer party, and I got to the tournament just in time for them to go. When they got back, there was barely enough time for Caleb and Tylor to finish their last games before Jerry ran them to a birthday party for a friend, pit-stopping at Walmart for a last minute gift (because, yes, we do procrastinate that much). The rest of us stayed for the awards. There were no trophies won by our kids, this time, and I don't even know how many games they each won/lost. But, I do know they had fun :)
