This time of year, it’s so easy to get caught up in the planning and organizing of the holidays and forget what it’s really all about. I love all the family gatherings, and the holiday traditions, but I often forget to slow down and really appreciate it all. In all that rushing, I don’t think I express my gratitude for the things I am so truly thankful for, nearly often enough. I am so blessed, and am so thankful for all of it.
I am thankful for my wonderful husband, who is so compassionate, selfless, and genuine. He’s the best father I could hope for my children to have. He’s our leader, protector and provider of all our comforts. He works so hard to support us, both financially and in everything we do. I’ve struggled with my health and weight issues and he’s been nothing but supportive. He brings in enough money to meet our needs and a little extra for us to indulge in things like central AC for our house, and summer vacations with the children. He coaches soccer teams for our kids, and volunteers in their classrooms and extra-curricular activities. And at the end of all the go, go, go, he still makes time to cuddle up and relax with me. It’s so important to me that we don’t lose our time together when we get caught up in all that life throws our way, and I am so thankful that he does his best to keep that a priority.
I am thankful for my children; all 6 of them. They are such sweet, loving, intelligent kids. I love that they are so alike and so unique all at the same time. I love that they all have their dad’s same passion for life, love, and learning but all express and pursue it each in their own ways. Having 6 kids can be crazy hectic, but they are so worth it.
I am thankful for Ridgeview, because they offer my kids a great atmosphere and such an amazing education that I only wish I could have received.
I am thankful for my parents, who are always there to help with the kids when Jerry and I take a much needed getaway, who are so supportive of my crazy plans (like adopting 3 more kids), and who are there to cheer me on while I fight my health battles.
I am thankful for our jobs. As much as I would love to be a stay at home mom, we are fortunate to have jobs that allow us to provide financially for our family, but are also flexible enough to allow us the work schedules we need to still maintain our home life.
I am thankful for my sister, who has been such a blessing to our family by working for us as our nanny and maid.
I am thankful for my health and my doctors. As much as I complain about my issues, I’m grateful that it isn’t worse, and I’m even more grateful that things are getting better.
