So the plan was to head to Del Mar for a 5k this morning, but we woke up to pouring rain and decided not to go. I was a little bummed, because I was looking forward to running a 5k with my best friend, but running in the rain wasn’t sounding like fun, either. We decided to meet up for breakfast and go to the Women’s Expo at the Del Mar Fairgrounds even though we vetoed the race. The expo turned out to be a lot smaller than we expected, so we were done in about an hour but we decided to head to the mall since we had no other plans for the day. It was fun to just hang out and wander the mall together. When we were done, we headed back to Murrieta, and got a late lunch and then split up to get ready for the soccer game. Jerry was back at the hotel, working, so I had to go disrupt him : ) Turns out he was pretty much done when I got there anyway, so I got to tell him about my fun day, and then we went across the parking lot to get coffee together, while we waited for Lisa and Gary to pick us up for the San Diego vs. Anaheim soccer game. Even the car ride was fun, as we told stories, laughed and Jerry was given more confirmation about how crazy similar, Lisa and I really are. We got to Anaheim and wandered around to downtown Disney in hopes of finding somewhere to eat, but all the restaurants were busy and had long waits. We headed back over to the convention center and ended up having dinner at the Hyatt, next door while we sat and relaxed telling more stories and having fun. The soccer game started at 8, and we had great seats. I’ve never seen indoor soccer before, so it was a little bit of a surprise to watch the crazy game. They had a smaller field, in an oval shape, and only 6 players per side. They were subbing out like hockey and they moved super-fast. The teams kept alternating scored goals, which was pretty funny, but at the end, San Diego let loose and finished the game with an awesome win. It was pretty awesome for my first indoor soccer game.
