Egyptian Day in 1st Grade

Lily has been so excited all week for Egyptian Day at school. They’ve been studying Ancient Egypt and are ending their study with a fun party making tombs, digging for lost treasures, and the best part – dressing as a “character” they learned about in their studies. Lily wanted to be a Mummy, so I made her a costume, which she tried on and modeled for me. She immediately took it off and put it in her back pack so she wouldn’t forget it (something she’s totally prone to doing).

Unfortunately, I have a very sad Lily today. She woke up a little after 4am, crying that she’d thrown up. Jerry cleaned up the mess while I gave her some loves, and sent her back to bed then got ready for work. She wasn’t doing any better when Jerry got the kids up for school so he decided to keep her home, which really upset her. He told me she said “I won’t throw up again” as she burst out in tears, again (apparently, she’d been in tears all morning). We aren’t sure if she was more upset that she didn’t feel well, or more upset that she was missing her party :( Poor girl. I hate it when they get sick, but especially when they have to miss out on something they really wanted to do.

Here’s her costume she didn’t get to wear… maybe we can get her to trunk or treat this weekend so she can wear it.
