Our Church organizes an annual community service project - Project One, where members of the church come together to complete home repairs and the like for nominated community members. This year, we took all the kids with us to allow them the opportunity to experience serving others. Lily, Caleb, and Tylor may have been a bit young still, this year. They found themselves bored and unable to help much more that pulling weeds, but we did our best to explain to them why it was so important as we repaired a fence and cleaned up the backyard for this single mom and her kids. Ian, Kyndall and Nate were able to help more with the fence repair, and being older, I think had a better understanding of the impact we made on this family, especially when the mom came out and thanked us for our "selfless contribution to those in need". All in all, I was very proud of our children.
